Just before Independence Day, four men from out of state were accused of robbing a jewelry store in North Andover and leading police on a high-speed pursuit. They were hauled before an Essex County judge on Tuesday and detained without bond.

Wilfred Mordan, 21, of Hazelton, Pennsylvania; Jarol Ledesma, 22, of Brooklyn, New York; Angel Carrasco, 21, of Beaver Meadows, Pennsylvania; and Yire Abreu, 24, of the Bronx, New York, are being held pending a dangerousness hearing. Two more suspects are still at large, according to the office of Essex DA Paul Tucker.

Police were summoned to Chickering Road in North Andover on July 3 after receiving information that several armed and masked individuals were stealing the jewelry store Milos Joyeria, according to Tucker’s office.

According to Tucker’s office, the accused defendants and two at-large suspects ran away from the scene and led authorities on a pursuit along Route 125. After allegedly heading into Lawrence on I-495, the group reportedly abandoned the car and tried to escape into the woods.

Lawrence Police located four of them and took them into custody. According to a news release from Tucker’s office, two people are still wanted by the police.

The arrested males are charged with a number of offenses, including receiving a stolen vehicle, carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, armed and masked robbery, and possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Five charges of assault with a deadly weapon are lodged against Carrasco.

The four men will return to court on June 14 for a detention hearing after entering not guilty pleas to those counts.
