Caitlin Clark suffers another groin injury, status uncertain

BOSTON —

Caitlin Clark’s

much-hyped trip to Boston

ended on a sour note

as the WNBA All-Star left the court late in the fourth quarter with an apparent injury.

The Indiana Fever had sewn up their 85-77 win over the

Connecticut Sun

at TD Garden when she checked out with 39.1 seconds left.

Clark appeared to be in considerable discomfort as she left the floor with a right groin injury after an assist to Kelsey Mitchell.

“No update. She felt something in her groin,” Fever coach Stephanie White said. “She’ll get it evaluated.”

Clark, who has struggled to shoot this season, was 4-for-14 from the field and 1-for-7 from 3-point range and finished with 14 points, eight rebounds and seven assists.

Clark has missed 10 games this season with quad and groin injuries.

Indiana plays two games in New York before the All-Star break. Clark is scheduled to participate in the game and the skills contest. White wasn’t looking that far ahead.

“We just take it one step at a time,” White said. “She’s being evaluated. We’ll see where we are with that. Certainly, we’ll probably have another evaluation and conversation (Wednesday) and see where we are. This group has played without her. We have a tough opponent in New York. We have to get locked in and ready to compete.”
