You have additional time to apply for SNAP replacement benefits if you or someone you know lost groceries as a result of the recent flooding in Texas. In order to provide families more time to receive the assistance they require, Governor Greg Abbott stated that the application deadline has been moved to August 18.
This extension follows Texas’s federal clearance to permit flood-affected households to apply for emergency food assistance. You can now apply for replacement benefits if the flood or power disruptions caused your food to spoil.
Within two business days of approval, the money will be credited to your Lone Star Card.
