Police seek to ID men involved in ‘prowler incidents’ in Boston and Brookline

The public is being asked to assist Boston and Brookline police in identifying men they believe were engaged in multiple prowler cases in the two towns earlier this month.

According to a news release from Boston police, four of the instances occurred between 12 and 1 a.m. in the Brighton neighborhood, near Kilsyth Road. At least one suspect was saw in a resident’s property before leaving onto Kilsyth or Colliston Road during these occurrences, which occurred on July 7, 12, 15, and 16.

Brookline police said in a community notice on Wednesday that a similar occurrence that occurred on Beacon Street in Brookline might be connected to the Boston incidents. A male followed a female victim on Ayr and Beacons Streets during the event, asking her repeatedly if she was lost.

According to Brooklike police, the victim denied being lost, but the man persisted in following her. She eventually sought safety in a vestibule on Beacon Street, and the man attempted to follow her inside.

According to Brookline police, the individual in the picture below was photographed soon after the victim entered the entryway.

Police in Boston have named one suspect in the incidents, but they think there could be up to two more. According to the police department, at least one of the suspects was known to speak Spanish.

Anyone with information on these incidents is asked to call Boston police detectives at (617) 343-4256, according to both police departments. Anonymous tips can be sent to the police department via the Boston Police website, by texting the word TIP to CRIME (27463), or by calling 1-800-494-TIPS.
