Washington (AP) Less than a mile from the U.S. Capitol, a National Guard vehicle struck a civilian vehicle Thursday morning as troops proceeded to occupy positions throughout the city as part of the President Donald Trump scrackdown.

According to Vito Maggiolo, a spokesman for the D.C. fire department, one individual was stuck inside the vehicle following the collision and had to be freed by rescue personnel. The patient had minor injuries and was sent to a hospital.

The cause of the collision was not immediately apparent. A silver SUV with a crushed side and a tan armored vehicle were shown in an online video. The civilian car was not quite as tall as the military version.

This is what you do when you visit our city? Really? In the footage, a woman shouted at the soldiers.

According to the police, the driver was breathing and awake, and the injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
