Teen charged with stabbing coworker with scissors at Canton gas station, police say

According to police, a teenager from Rhode Island was taken into custody Wednesday morning after he used a pair of scissors to stab his coworker in the stomach at a petrol station in Massachusetts.

Later that day, Osmin Ramirez, 19, of Providence, was arraigned in Stoughton District Court and entered a not guilty plea to a charge of assault and battery with a deadly weapon related to the incident, according to court documents.

Around 7:45 a.m., officers were called to a customer argument at the Shell gas station and Seasons Corner Market at 731 Washington St., according to a press release from Canton police. Ramirez and a coworker got into a physical altercation when their van was stopped at a gas pump, according to the incident’s investigation.

According to authorities, Ramirez used a pair of scissors to stab his coworker, a 29-year-old guy, in the stomach during the altercation. Without any additional incident, officers took him into custody at the site.

According to authorities, firefighters transported Ramirez’s coworker to a nearby hospital. He should recover from his wounds.

According to court documents, Ramirez was released on $2,500 bail at his arraignment. Regarding the stabbing, no other details have been made public.
