Nate Eaton, a new York Yankee, has only made 33 plate appearances in the major leagues thus far this season. In spite of this, Eaton will be in the center of the Red Sox lineup on Sunday night during primetime.
As Boston takes on the Yankees and southpaw Carlos Rodn in the Bronx, Eaton is starting in center field and hitting fifth. Alex Cora is once again using a lineup that is heavy on righties and will only include two left-handed hitters (Roman Anthony and Jarren Duran) when facing a southpaw. Romy Gonzalez is starting off at first base, and Ceddanne Rafaela is hitting seventh from second base. In his second major league start, rookie Jhostynxon will play right field and try to get his first major league hit in the No. 9 hole.
After defeating the Yankees 12-1 on Saturday, the Red Sox, who have won eight straight games against them, will try to complete a four-game sweep on Sunday night.Boston will attempt to continue increasing their win total behind righty Dustin May, who has a 2.87 ERA in three starts with Boston thus far, even though they have already secured the season series. May will experience the Red Sox-Yankees rivalry for the first time.
ESPN will broadcast the game, with the first pitch scheduled for 7:10 p.m. ET.
