After spending some time in Boston during the previous season, Ron Harper Jr. is back with the Celtics.Harper signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Celtics, which means he will be present at training camp, according to Keith Smith of Spotrac.

Harper, 25, played for the Celtics in the 2024 Summer League during the previous season. He began the season with the G League’s Maine Celtics before being signed to a two-way deal by the Pistons. Before he became a free agent once more this summer, he spent the previous season there. He participated in 11 NBA games during his career.

Harper began his career on two-way contracts with the Raptors for the first two seasons. After graduating from Rutgers in 2022, he was not drafted. After acquiring rookies Max Shulga and Amari Williams and dealing for RJ Luis from the Jazz, the Celtics are completely loaded on two-way slots. However, a team might try to sign Harper, as the Pistons did with him the previous season, if he performs well in his opportunity.

Harper’s family members have strong ties to the NBA. Dylan, his brother, was selected by the Spurs with the second overall pick in the 2025 draft. Ron, his father, won five NBA titles during his 15 seasons as an NBA player. Now that he will have another opportunity with the Celtics, Ron Harper Jr. will try to stay in the league.
