Boston weather: City in for cooler mostly dry week, could see ‘rougher’ seas due to Hurricane Erin

The National Weather Service predicts that Boston will have drier weather and milder temperatures over the course of the upcoming week.

According to NWS meteorologist Bryce Williams, we’re expecting a calm week with mostly below-normal temperatures. High temperatures will be around 20 degrees lower than on Sunday.

Forecasts predict largely clear skies with a much cooler high in the low 70s on Monday. According to NWS, the high may rise closer to the mid-70s, and the dry, largely sunny weather is expected to persist through Tuesday.

According to Williams, highs over the week are expected to be five to ten degrees below average because typical average highs for this time of year are in the low 80s.

According to NWS predictions, Wednesday will see a shift to partly overcast sky and more high temperatures in the mid-70s.

According to Williams, the only possibility of some widely dispersed showers would be on Wednesday, which is roughly midweek. It is unlikely, though. It is predicted to remain dry for the entire week.

According to NWS, Thursday is expected to provide more largely sunny and clear weather with high temperatures that are gradually rising into the mid-70s.

“We won’t start to get to the upper 70s and low 80s until Friday and closer to the weekend,” Williams stated.

According to Williams, Hurricane Erin, which swept up from the south of the United States over the weekend, may potentially have a remote effect on the area.

According to Williams, Hurricane Erin will pass close to our southwest. And the sole effect of that will be higher surf and waves in our waterways, especially on our beaches that face south. However, from the middle to end of the week, the seas will be rougher than usual in all of our maritime zones or locations.
