A panel on South Park will be held later in the day, and fans flocked to the convention’s renowned Hall H for details on the Toxic Avenger revival and the Five Nights at Freddy’s sequel.
There won’t be any significant announcements at the convention on any impending Marvel films or the next steps in DC’s successful Superman franchise relaunch. As far as their film slates are concerned, both studios are not attending Comic-Con 2025.
The conference, which will welcome Lucas for his first visit at Comic-Con on Sunday, is expected to draw 135,000 attendees. The creator of Star Wars will talk about his new Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, which will open in Los Angeles the following year.
There will be enough to applaud for Alien and Predator fans. This week, Elle Fanning, who starred in Predator: Badlands, will talk about the movie. The cast and creators of Alien: Earth, a television series that will unleash the Xenomorph species on Earth next month, will also be brought by FX.
With a model of the spacecraft from the series, Alien: Earth will be one of the initiatives bringing a huge interactive experience to San Diego. At night, the attraction will include what is called a scary mission.
Marvel will feature a Fantastic Four: First Steps attraction close to the convention, which is a tie-in to Friday’s premiere of the most recent attempt to successfully launch its first family film in theaters, even though it may not be releasing any new films.
The convention’s 460,000-square-foot exhibitor area, which includes exclusive goods, comic book artwork, and displays from companies like Star Wars, Lego, Nickelodeon, Paramount, and more, is one of its key attractions.
During Five Nights at Freddy’s 2’s appearance at Comic-Con, neither people nor animatronics suffered any injuries.
On the robots’ movie set, it wasn’t always the case.
Star Piper Rubio stated, “They’re there, you can actually hug them.” However, she pointed out that the animatronics occasionally had problems, such as strange facial expressions, missing fingers, or foxes that would occasionally catch fire.
The popular computer game Five Nights at Freddy’s, which tells the story of a haunted pizza place with possessed, murderous animatronic creatures, served as the inspiration for the films.
When the first movie debuted in cinemas and on the Peacock streaming service in 2023, it made $130.6 million worldwide in its first weekend, making it Blumhouse’s greatest opening.
According to director Emma Tammi, there are three times as many animatronics in the second film as in the first. According to actor Josh Hutcherson, the film also includes new mechanical characters including Mangle and several Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza businesses.
Teo Briones, a newcomer to the series and star of Chucky and Final Destination Bloodlines, said he was thrilled to participate in a film based on a game he played as a kid.
“Being a part of something that has been so important culturally for my generation is really special,” he said.
December 5 is the release date for Five Nights at Freddy’s 2.
Toxic Avenger appeared to have vanished into thin air a year ago. However, Troma Entertainment’s genuinely graphic reimagining of the iconic 1984 B-movie was in Comic-Con’s prestigious Hall H on Thursday like any other blockbuster.
The film, which was shot in 2021 and debuted at a festival in 2023, had trouble finding a distributor. Because of its extremely gory yet somehow warm comedic violence—the majority of which was caused by the main character’s poisonous mop while wearing a tutu—some people had declared movie unfit for release.
It will now have an unrated wide release on August 29 thanks to Cineverse.
Blair claimed that when he decided to make the movie, he had a few demands that were gratefully met.
A tutu was a must for him. “The director said that he needed a mop,” he added. Not using CGI.
Blair remarked, “I was pretty insistent that we have to have a performer in a suit.”
In the movie, which also features Elijah Wood, Taylour Paige, and Jacob Tremblay, Peter Dinklage plays the hero in his pre-toxic state and lends his voice. Everyone was on stage except Bacon.
Other individuals are up here! Dinklage stated that he was the target of the first set of questions during the Q&A. Have you ever watched Lord of the Rings? That didn’t include me!
Everyone in the room laughed as much as Wood, the LOTR star seated next to him.
At a largely crowded event to promote their major 2026 comedy show at Los Angeles SoFi Stadium, comedians Jo Koy and Gabriel Fluffy Iglesias sent Hall H into a frenzy.
The two engaged in lighthearted and largely family-friendly banter regarding their ardent fan groups, inspirations, and heroes (Iglesias mentioned his mother, which made Koy want to modify his response from Eddie Murphy).
As befits a performance at a football stadium, they claimed their event would have special guests, at least 90-minute sets from each of them, and most likely some tailgating. Fans should anticipate being there all day, they advised.
Koy made a joke about how difficult it was to return here and how he was refusing calls from friends and family asking for convention passes.
They distributed autographed Funko collective figures of themselves and a crowd selfie when the event came to a close. They advised everyone to seek cover if they were there with someone they shouldn’t be. Iglesias joked, “We’re not Coldplay,” referencing the viral kiss cam scandal in which a tech firm CEO was seen hugging an employee during one of the band’s performances.
