According to Morgan’s Instagram post, it was her first time performing her new song, “Then You Happened,” live.
She and fellow country artist Jay Allen announced their divorce in May after two years of marriage and a separation late last year.According to People magazine, the divorce was formalized on May 22.
Morgan wrote, “I’m grateful to everyone there who was so kind to me about crying because I nearly couldn’t finish the song because of so many emotions.” It’s scary to write songs about your life. It’s like bleeding on paper and singing it aloud for everyone to hear when I read [my] diary.
“Fans’ reactions are one thing that helps,” Morgan wrote.
“Every nasty and hurtful remark is worth it after reading all of your stories about what happened to you and realizing how it has become a healing anthem for so many of you,” she said.
