Drake shares receipts of $8 million in gambling losses

According to the hip-hop artist Drake, money isn’t a problem for him because he lost over $8 million in a single month as a result of sports betting.

The Once Dancerapper, who has been a partner of the cryptocurrency betting site Stake for the past three years, posted the receipts of all the money he has lost from gambling on social media on Wednesday night.

In addition to a screenshot of his losses, he posted on his Instagram Story about the negative aspects of gambling.

His article claims that Drake lost $8.2 million on bets totaling around $125 million during the previous month. The NBA Finals and NHL playoff games have been in full flow for the past four weeks, but he could not say which specific bets caused his financial disaster.

The 38-year-old disclosed a $800,000 wager on Thursday’s Game 6 of the NBA Finals in another Instagram post. Drake bet $600,000 on an Oklahoma City Thunder victory and another $200,000 on them winning by a 6–10 point margin since the Oklahoma City Thunder were ahead of the Indiana Pacers in the series. An estimated $1.7 million would be his total reward if both bets were successful.

When his hometown hockey team lost to the Florida Panthers in Game 7 of Round 2 of the NHL playoffs last month, the rapper wagered $1.25 million for the Toronto Maple Leafs to win and go to the Eastern Conference Finals.

Although that amount was last disclosed in 2020, Forbes estimates Drake’s net worth to be $49 million. His current net worth is estimated to be over $250 million.
