As two nations that have been engaged in such a protracted and intense conflict that they have no idea what the f- they’re doing, President Trump is unreserved in his criticism of the early cease-fire violation between Iran and Israel.
It’s straightforward and direct—just the kind of honest message that Americans need to hear.
Regarding Iran, a state sponsor of terrorism in the Middle East, we have been subjected to docile political rhetoric from international leaders and Washington for years. Iran was instructed not to develop nuclear weapons and pledged to do so in return for the lifting of sanctions. The nation vowed to cut back on its uranium enrichment stockpile.
However, as was to be expected, the International Atomic Energy Agency’s latest assessment on Iran’s accelerated uranium enrichment caused concern. Iran rejects Israel’s right to exist, just like Hamas terrorists do. It is terrifying to think of Iran possessing nuclear weapons.
Trump might have made additional pledges to improve his performance by giving a tsk-tsk speech in front of international leaders. However, Trump ordered Operation Midnight Hammer, which dropped bunker-buster bombs on Iranian nuclear targets as Israel and Iran fought an air war.
The message: The United States is not participating.
In an attempt to save face, Iran retaliated by firing missiles toward an American air force base in Qatar; no casualties were reported. After Trump declared a cease-fire, both sides used missiles to break it.
The tenuous cease-fire has been restored as of this writing.
Naturally, Democrats are incensed.
Some members of Congress hurried to accuse Trump of striking Iran in violation of the Constitution.
Rep. Katherine Clark of Massachusetts stated that it was unlawful and unapproved. Sen. Elizabeth Warren joined the argument, saying that only Congress has the authority to declare war and that the Senate must act right away to stop another unending conflict.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York wrote on Saturday night that Trump should be impeached for his reckless danger of starting a war that might trap us for decades.
The fact that prior presidents have also used unilateral military action presents a minor issue for all of these Democratic chicken littles. When the Houthi rebels in Yemen attacked international shipping in the Red Sea last year, President Biden gave the order for the U.S. military to strike them. President Obama gave the military the command to assault Libyan government forces in 2011.
No harm, no foul, but they weren’t Trump.
A GOP resolution to revoke an article of impeachment filed by Texas Democratic Rep. Al Green was voted down 344 to 79 by House Democrats and Republicans on Tuesday, demonstrating that cooler heads won out on both sides of the aisle.
Perhaps Democrats have finally come to the conclusion that shooting holes in your sinking boat is not a good idea. Rep. Buddy Carter, R-Ga, wrote to the Nobel Peace Prize Committee nominating Trump for the prize, stating that he had an extraordinary and historic role in ending the armed conflict between Israel and Iran and preventing the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism from obtaining the most lethal weapon on the planet. The AOC, Warren, Clarke, and the rest of the progressive set are undoubtedly thrilled about this.
Straightforward language, straightforward action. No amount of Democratic wrangling will change the fact that 77 million Americans voted for it in November of last year.
