Anderson, Tania Fernandes, If you refuse to leave, how can we possibly miss you?
At her last meeting as a Boston City Councilor this afternoon, the most recent felon to leave City Hall is having a good time.
You are welcome if you are indicted!
Upon leaving their positions, Boston city councilors frequently relocate outside of the city. They leave for the South Shore, Westwood, Wellesley, or perhaps Nahant, depending on the community from whence they originate.
However, Tania will be relocating out of state, most likely to Alderson, West Virginia, or Danbury, Connecticut.
These are the closest female federal prisons. Because she was found guilty of corruption, the US lawyer has requested that the judge sentence her to a year and a day in prison.
Occasionally, a politician’s family will attend a public farewell. However, in Tania’s instance, her husband will not be present to bow and cry.
Tanzerius Anderson, who killed a legitimate Lebanese alien in Brighton with great cruelty or atrocity, is presently serving a life term in state prison.
The victim pleaded, “Please, please,” for his life. However, Tania’s better half gave him a direct shot to the face. After making $46 during the heist, Tanzerius boasted:
I’ve got my summer body.
It was love at first sight when Tania and Tanzerius first met.
A picture of Tania will appear when you search for DEI in a dictionary. She fulfills all the requirements. Check for illegal aliens! (She was eventually naturalized back in 2019 after spending her entire life on welfare of some kind.)
African check! Check for Muslims!
Even for her Roxbury district, one of her accomplishments was not a first. She is not the first councilor from Roxbury to be found guilty of corruption while collecting a large salary ($120,000 for Tania).
Do you recall Chuck Turner? He was also punished for accepting monetary payments. Naturally, he was found guilty, and the Council chose to remove him prior to his sentencing since he had broken a local code or something.
Inconsolable, Chuck swore on the Council floor about the injustice of his hasty dismissal. He gestured to a few of the Irish-American council members, saying:
The way you treat me is similar to how they treat the Irish!
Suppressing a chuckle, one of the Irish men gestured to Sal Lammatina, who was from East Boston, and said:
The Italians, too!
For Chuck’s estate, at least, his move to Club Fed had a somewhat pleasant conclusion. Three years after his passing, the city’s law department—also referred to as the settlement department—awarded $380,000 to his wife.
There won’t be a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow for Tania. As of Independence Day, she is stepping down.
“This isn’t goodbye,” she said on her invitation. Tania, was that a threat?
I would be very happy to share this final chapter with you if you are able.
Prior to the screws closing her jail door.
Will Ricky Ricardo Arroyo and Kendra Lara, her former coworkers, be present? Due to their poor health, those two disreputable people left politics. Voters became weary of them.
Another Chicago native, Ayanna Pressley, pole leaped from the City Council clown show to the U.S. House. Tania now visits the Big House, a separate residence.
It is more common for city councilors to depart after losing their mayoral bid. Usually, such also-rans go in silence.
Sometimes, like Michelle Wu, a councilor will be elected. Or they take over as acting mayor once someone resigns. Tommy Mumbles Menino, who took over as acting mayor following Ray Flynn’s resignation, would be on that list.
“He’s not a very good actor,” said Rosaria Sister Sunshine Salerno, a city councilor who later chose to challenge Mumbles for mayor. After losing, she was appointed municipal clerk.
Bust-out, otherwise unemployed municipal councilors have always found that becoming city clerk is a suitable job choice. Sister Sunshine, Pat McDonough, Barry Hynes, and even hacks like Maureen Feeney who chose not to run for mayor.
Dapper O. At his last Council meeting, Neil broke down in tears, but he was 79 years old and his work was his entire life. “Part of me wants to leave, but part of me wants to stay,” said Mickey Roache, who was chosen for a better hacking position.
He was a crazy person. Barney Frank once stated of the Boston City Council, “If you run, only two things can happen, and both of them are bad.” Mickey forgot what he said. Either you win or you lose.
Perhaps Tania Fernandes Anderson will be placed in Martha Stewart’s former Alderson cell. Although Tania’s time at City Hall was short, it was controversial. On the Council floor, she unleashed her famous tirade after the State Ethics Commission penalized her $5,000 and ordered her to terminate her unlawfully hired sister and her son:
As a black woman, what the bleep do I have to do in this bleeping Council to be respected?
Perhaps refrain from accepting payoffs in the women’s restroom? Perhaps express some appreciation to the country that has let you slither around here since you came here illegally from your barbaric Third World country?
Or simply turn off the bleep, serve your time, and then return to Africa, where you belong.
At these farewells, the Council occasionally presents its leaving members with a kind of keepsake, such a plaque of recognition. Perhaps they should honor one more of her well-known quotes from her 2023 tirade.
She yelled, “Don’t come for me because you’ll get smoked if you want smoke.”
Her plaque need to say:
Anderson, Tania Fernandes. The smoke was brought by them.
