FOXBOROUGHTreVeyon Henderson acknowledges that he hasn’t given much thought to the accolades he has earned this summer, but he is having a good time.
One of the Patriots’ best places this summer has been the second-round selection. The first time the rookie running back touched the ball this preseason, he scored on a 100-yard kickoff return. He scored an 8-yard touchdown run last weekend when it appeared that the offensive line had few or no gaps.
Henderson has appeared to be a key component of the Patriots’ attack this summer. He acknowledged that many people are excited by his performance, but he clarified why it doesn’t concern him.
Henderson remarked, “I don’t really pay attention to all the social media stuff.” The greatest thing I know is that I am now praised by others for my success. But I feel like it doesn t come from true love. At the same time, people see me as a football player, so if things come crashing down, I know that love turns into hate. The most important thing is that I continue to focus on God and what he sees in me. That’s what I continue to concentrate on.
Henderson has been the Patriots’ fastest player on the practice field this offseason. He had an effect on Tuesday, setting up a field goal with back-to-back catches in the 2-minute drill.
Henderson stated that during his first training camp, he has been concentrating on developing into a well-rounded football player. This covers receiving passes out of the backfield as well as pass protection.
Henderson remarked, “I’m grateful to be in this position.” I’m grateful to be getting my feet healthy and to have had some progress thus far. Being an NFL player is a blessing. This is a fantastic opportunity.
In his first training camp, Henderson has made quite the impression.
I’m enjoying myself. Of course it’s difficult,” Henderson remarked. While it’s challenging, I’m also loving spending time with the guys, meeting individuals from all over the world, and creating these relationships and bonds.
