Over the weekend, a married couple was fatally attacked on a well-traveled route at Devil’s Den State Park in Arkansas, turning a tranquil family trek into a tragic event. Despite being protected, their two young kids are now without their parents.
What Happened at Devil s Den?
Authorities found the remains of Clinton David Brink, 43, and Cristen Amanda Brink, 41, on a trail at Devil’s Den State Park, which is situated in the Ozark National Forest approximately 30 miles south of Fayetteville, on Saturday afternoon, July 26.
At the time of the incident, the Brinks were hiking with their two kids, ages seven and nine. The Arkansas Department of Public Safety reports that the youngsters were fortunately located unharmed and are currently in the custody of extended family.
Manhunt for the Suspect Underway
A white man suspect is being sought by Arkansas State Police immediately. He is described as wearing:
Dark shorts
A dark tank top
Gloves for weightlifting
According to reports, he was spotted driving a black four-door sedan—possibly a Mazda—with license plates obscured by duct or electrical tape, making it challenging to identify the vehicle. He was last seen going toward a park exit, according to witnesses.
No arrests have been made, and authorities have not disclosed any information regarding a potential motive. The bodies of the couple have been taken to the Arkansas State Crime Lab so that their cause and manner of death can be further examined.
Public Response and Governor s Statement
The startling crime has garnered a lot of attention. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the governor, wrote in response to the tragedy:

We know that law enforcement will not stop until the offender is apprehended, and we are praying for the victims’ friends and family.
