Since his numerous arrests in 2024 on suspicion of rape and on preliminary counts of bodily harm and criminal damage, H Iby, the 28-year-old son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit and stepson of the heir apparent, Crown Prince Haakon, has been under investigation.
According to Oslo Police Attorney Andreas Kruszewski, H Iby cooperated during the now-completed police interrogation. According to the police lawyer, the case’s evidence came from a variety of sources, including witness statements, text messages, and police searches.
According to Kruszewksi, the charges comprised four incidents of sexual assault, two cases of physical harm, one case of rape involving sexual relations, and two cases of rape without sexual relations.
Beyond verifying that it is a double-digit figure, I am unable to provide any other information regarding the case’s victim count, he stated.
In an email to The Associated Press, defense lawyer Petar Sekulic stated that while Hibi was taking the claims extremely seriously, he did not admit any fault in the majority of the instances, particularly those involving sexual abuse and violence.
According to the royal palace, the case is going through the legal system and is being handled according to standard protocol. We don’t have anything more to say.
In Norway, where the royal family is well-liked, the case made headlines.
According to Sekulic, Hibi now resides in a different home close by, having formerly resided with the royal couple and their two kids, Princess Ingrid Alexandra and Prince Sverre Magnus.
Until a court decides otherwise, Hibi is free pending a potential trial and is entitled to the assumption of innocence.
Despite his real father, Morton Borg, serving time in jail for drug and violent offenses, H iby, who was formerly affectionately referred to as Little Marius, grew up in the spotlight, having the same wealth and privileges as his royal brothers. Hoiby has admitted to using cocaine and being addicted to it.
When the future queen of Norway married Haakon in 2001, she made headlines because she was a single mother who had led a wild life with a partner who had been convicted of drug offenses.
