After reportedly beating and wounding his 2-year-old son, who passed away tragically on August 14, a dad is facing significant charges.
Emergency personnel were called to a residence on Sherman Street after being notified that a kid was not responding, according to the McKean County District Attorney’s Office. After being taken to a hospital, the youngster was declared dead.
Charges Against the Father
Prescott, the father, has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child, aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury to a kid under the age of 13, and aggravated assault causing bodily injury to a child under the age of six. These accusations are related to alleged harm his son sustained from July 17 to August 14.
Depending on the outcome of the victim’s autopsy, district attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer has hinted that more charges might be brought.
Previous Legal Issues
Prescott has previously into afoul of the law. Bradford Police arrested him in March 2021 on suspicion of serious assault, reckless endangerment, and endangering a child’s welfare. These accusations also draw attention to a concerning pattern of conduct.
Bail and Legal Proceedings
Prescott was returned to the McKean County Jail after a judge set his bond at $1 million. The inquiry is still ongoing as of right now, and as the case develops, more information should become available.
