According to the department, Medford Police have detained a 22-year-old man in connection with the Saturday non-fatal gunshot of a minor victim.
In connection with the incident on Light Guard Drive, Core Moore, 22, of Medford, has been charged with three charges of armed assault to murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault on a family member or household member, strangulation or suffocation, and additional offenses, according to the police.
According to the department, police reacted to reports of gunfire in the neighborhood at around two in the morning on Saturday. Officers discovered a young child who had been shot at the location.
According to authorities, the kid received help at the site and was sent to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
After a thorough search, Medford Police reported finding many shot casings in a parking area between Light Guard Drive and Rockwell Avenue.
The Northern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council SWAT Team was called in by police to apprehend Moore, according to the department. A pending warrant led to the suspect’s arrest.

On Monday morning, Moore is scheduled to be arraigned in Somerville District Court.
