On Monday afternoon in Ipswich, a son became trapped while attempting to save his father from a blazing house.
Around 11:51 a.m., authorities received a call about the burning house at 383 Linebrook Road. They discovered two males were trapped inside while they were en route.
In an attempt to save his father, who had mobility challenges, the son hurried over from the house next door. However, as the fire progressed, both guys became trapped on the second storey.
There was a lot of fire coming from the front and back of the house when Ipswich Police arrived at 11:56 a.m. The smoke conditions made it impossible for the police to enter.
The males were rescued by two firefighters.
Action Ambulance sent the elderly guy to Anna Jacques Hospital in Newburyport for treatment of smoke inhalation. Later, he was brought to a hospital in Boston. After evaluation, his son refused to proceed to a nearby hospital.
Two individuals were bitten by dogs, and one dog died. There are still two missing cats.
According to officials, the water main was a dead-end, which further restricted the amount of water available to firemen fighting the fire. The house was completely destroyed.
When firefighters arrived, there was a lot of fire coming from the front and back of the structure, trapping people. They used a portable ladder to rescue two people. That is a high-risk, infrequent event that has a successful conclusion. Paul Parisi, fire chief of Ipswich, said. I would like to thank our Rowley and Ipswich firemen for their cooperation today. They prepare for such circumstances, and their ability to collaborate surely saved lives. The kid who put his life in danger to save his father deserves special recognition as well. He truly is a hero.
The Ipswich Police Department, Ipswich incident Department, and the State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit, which is part of the State Fire Marshal’s Office, are still investigating the cause of the incident.
