Italians are protesting Amazon founder Jeff Bezos’ upcoming nuptials to Lauren Sanchez in tourist-heavy Venice.
Venetians have reportedly
posted signs “all over town” reading “No space for Bezos,”
according to TMZ. Another poster featuring the billionaire’s name with an “X” through it has been seen hanging from the bell tower of the 16th-century San Giorgio Maggiore Church.
The “space” banners appear to be a play on words based on Bezos owning the Blue Origin exploration company that recently flew Sanchez into shallow space with celebs including
singer Katy Perry
and TV personality Gayle King.
Puck News reported in March that the high-flying couple would finally end their two-year engagement by
tying the knot in a three-day ceremony
beginning June 24.
A-list guests expected
to attend the wedding include Perry and King, as well as Oprah Winfrey, Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Brian Grazer, Eva Longoria, Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, and fellow billionaire businessman Barry Diller and his wife, designer Diane von Furstenberg.
